Mr. Onishi

by: Yoshihumi Hasegawa

Yoshihumi Hasegawa tells a story about what he learned from his teacher about art. The kids are about to pull out their supplies when Mr. Onishi gives them one thick paint brush and encourages them to mix their own colors. Three boys would rather sword-fight with their brushes, so they cut corners on their roject. When Mr. Onishi discovers they've painted their papers plain brown, he instructs them to pay closer attention to the hallway that is their subject in order to experience how color and light really work.
